2022-09-28 09:2684770

On September 23rd, the "RCEP Business Service Center" was inaugurated in Haikou. The Center is expected to further strengthen and expand communication and exchanges with RCEP member countries on the basis of the existing cooperation.

After the establishment of the RCEP Business Service Center, a service line will be set up on the Hainan Free Trade Port Global Investment to provide multilingual policy consulting services for enterprises. In conjunction with Hainan's four key industries, the Center aims to serve enterprises from RCEP member countries to settle in the island, and help them share the dividends of China's new round of reform and opening-up. At the same time, it will also focus on helping Chinese enterprises to go global by taking advantage of the Hainan Free Trade Port’s policies, and explore the markets of RCEP member countries.

Li Xie, the deputy director of Department of Commerce of Hainan Province expressed “The Service Center is actually a "double center," one in Beijing and the other in Haikou. We will provide precise and differentiated services according to different regions, enterprises and demands.”

Cooperation between Hainan FTP and RCEP Member States Bears Fruits

From January to August this year, RCEP member states have set up 128 new overseas-funded enterprises in Hainan, and Hainan recorded 30 new enterprises that had invested in RCEP member states, with a registered investment of nearly $1.4 billion, an increase of 111.7% year-on-year. The fields of investment range from manufacturing, new materials, wholesale, retail to information technology services.

“At present, the Hainan Expo is an important support of dual circulation. In the future, we will continue to play the role of platform and bridge, interacting with the RCEP Business Service Center to provide more quality services and to attract more enterprises from RCEP member countries to invest and develop in China and in the Hainan Free Trade Port,” said Gong Qijun, the deputy director of Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development.
