Recently, for the first time, the Hainan Free Trade Port has imported pharmaceutical products by taking advantage of its “zero-tariff” policy for raw and auxiliary materials. The value of the goods reaches 417,400 yuan, and 82,500 yuan of tariffs have been exempted.
These pharmaceutical raw and auxiliary materials were imported by the Visum Pharmaceutical Company and the Hainan Shuangcheng Pharmaceuticals Company, including talc powder and chromatographic column fillers. After processing, the finished products will mainly be exported.
“Hainan's pharmaceutical products are competitive in the international market. The "zero-tariff" policy for raw and auxiliary materials can help reduce the production costs of enterprises, which is helpful for expanding overseas markets,” said Liu Yukun, director of the general manager's office of the Visum Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
Last December, the notice on adjusting the zero-tariff policy for raw and auxiliary materials imported by the Hainan Free Trade Port, which was jointly issued by the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs and the State Administration of Taxation of China, was officially implemented. 187 commodities including raw and auxiliary materials required by the pharmaceutical industry had been added into the Hainan Free Trade Port List of Zero-Tariff Raw and Auxiliary Materials. As a result, a total of 356 commodities have been listed.
