On September 20th, Qishui Bay Tourism Resort Complex "dual-carbon" demonstration project was officially put into use after upgrading.
The project covers a total construction area of 22,400 square meters, and is one of the ten "dual carbon" demonstration projects of China Green Development Investment Group. It is the first "BRE net-zero carbon" and "zero energy consumption" building certification project in Hainan Province. BRE, namely the Building Research Establishment, is a world leading multi-disciplinary building research center based in the United Kingdom. The annual clean energy generation is about 910,000 kWh. After meeting 100% of the annual energy consumption of the building it can provide up to 128,900 kWh of internet access. It is estimated that the annual carbon dioxide emission can be reduced by 530 tons, and the combustion of standard coal can be reduced by 112 tons.
Zhao Zhiwen, the chairman of China Green Development Investment Group Co., Ltd. noted, “We applied passive building technology, with efficient air conditioning and a fresh air system at the same time. We have carried out research and development in the photovoltaic building integration technology and built a comprehensive energy management platform, which have shown benefits.”
Qishui Bay Tourism Resort Complex project, as the first net-zero carbon and zero energy consumption demonstration building in Hainan Province, has achieved world-leading performance. It is a demonstration project of green transformation of existing buildings in the province.
Zhou Zhi, the dean of School of Civil and Architectural Engineering of Hainan University added, “The relevant research results and demonstration project construction play an important role in supporting the formulation and implementation of the "dual-carbon" strategy on Hainan’s urban and rural construction, and it is also a key for leading the promotion of buildings with net-zero carbon zero energy consumption in tropical islands.”
