The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) will enter into force for Indonesia on January 2, 2023. So far, my country has mutually implemented agreements with 13 of the other 14 RCEP members. The entry into force of RCEP in Indonesia is an important step to promote the full implementation of RCEP. It will inject new impetus into the development of regional economic integration, regional and global economic growth, and further promote the cooperation and development of regional industrial and supply chains.
Under RCEP, on the basis of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, Indonesia has added zero-tariff treatment to more than 700 products in my country, including some auto parts, motorcycles, TVs, clothing, shoes, plastic products, bags, chemical products, etc. Among them, some auto parts, motorcycles, and some clothing products will immediately realize zero tariffs from January 2, and other products will gradually reduce to zero tariffs within a certain transition period.
