The reporter learned from the Provincial Department of Commerce on July 4 that in the first half of this year, the duty-free market in Hainan's outlying islands was active, and the total sales of the 12 outlying island duty-free shops were 32.396 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31%.
Among the total sales of the 12 outlying island duty-free shops in Hainan, the duty-free sales in the first half of the year were 26.484 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26%. The number of duty-free shoppers was 5.166 million, a year-on-year increase of 34%.

Since the beginning of this year, Hainan has introduced a number of measures to promote consumption, allocated nearly 200 million yuan to issue consumer vouchers, fully supported outlying island tax exemption, cultural tourism and other consumption, and accelerated the recovery and expansion of Hainan's consumer market. Duty-free shops on major outlying islands in Hainan actively launched various themed activities and carried out vigorous discount promotions to allow tourists to enjoy greater shopping discounts. Driven by duty-free shopping on outlying islands, in the first five months of this year, the province's total retail sales of consumer goods exceeded 100 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%, which was nearly 4 percentage points higher than the national level. The basic role of consumption in economic development has been continuously strengthened.
The Hainan Outlying Islands duty-free market has ushered in many new changes this year, such as adding more entities and making it easier to pick up goods. Following the opening of cdf Haikou International Duty Free City, the world's largest single duty-free store in October last year, Wangfujing International Duty Free Port in Wanning City officially opened in April this year. The opening of the new store has further optimized the layout of Hainan Island Duty Free Island. Starting from April 1 this year, the duty-free shopping of Hainan outlying island tourists has added the "guaranteed pick up" and "immediately pick up" delivery methods, which further enhance the shopping experience of outlying island tourists.
