Product Description

Static Var Generator:ZD-SVGC Series

The  static var generator (SVG for short), based on voltage type inverter principle, uses the isolated gate binary transistor (IGBT4) to control the value and phase of AC voltage of inverter, so as to serve the purpose of reactive and harmonic compensation. As the switching frequency of IGBT is very high (dozens of kHz), SVG can realize fast compensation for reactive load, and achieve very high compensation precision. ASVG is currently the best solution in reactive power control filed. Compared with the traditional SVT represented by TSC, the regulation speed of SVG is faster (the response speed is within 5ms), its compensation precision is high (the power factor after compensation is over 0.99), the compensation method is flexible (SVG can compensate both inductive reactive power and capacitive reactive power), and SVG also has the function of active filtration of harmonic current.


Main Function

1.Diversely compensate reactive power, improve power factor
Kinds of loads in power system will need a large number of reactive power during working. Meanwhile, transformer and line impedance in the power distribution grid will also generate reactive power, which will reduce  power factor.
Load's lower power factor will increase loss of energy and voltage drop of power supply line, which will reduce voltage quality in power system. Meanwhile, reactive power also cause the reduction of availability of power generation, distribtion,power supply equipments;for electric consumer, low power factor will increase electricity bill, increase production cost .  SVG solve these problems perfectly. 

 2.Enhance system voltage stability
It's easy to cause grid voltage on the low side and voltage collapse accident due to large capacity and no large reactive power as support in load center,  .  SVG has fast reactive power adjustment ability, which can maintain load side voltage, to improve voltage stability of power supply system at load side. 

 3.suppress voltage fluctuation and flicker
The load dramatic changing will cause current sharp fluctuation and  voltage flicker. Typically such as electric arc furnace,rolling mill,electric locomotive .
SVG can fast provide varying reactive current, to compensate voltage fluctuation and flicker caused by load changes. SVG is the best solution for this at present
4.filter  harmonics
There are lots of nonlinear loads in power distribution grid such as inverter,internal mixer, and arc , which cause lots of harmonic,voltage/current wave distortation, increase electrical equipment fault rate , increase distribution system loss  in power grid , and even  lead to accident. SVG can generate equivalent and reverse compensation current to filter harmonic pollution,and the maximum compensation capacity is 30% of device capacity. 

 5.suppress 3-phase unbalance
Power distribution grid has many 3-phase unbalanced loads, such as electric locomotive traction loads and AC furnance. The3-phase impedance unbalance of line, transformer and other distribution equipment will also cause voltage unbalance.
SVG can  compensate negative current generated by unbalanced loads quickly, always ensure 3-phase current to grid is balanced,  improve  power quality and stability greatly. 

6.faster response speed    SVG  response time:≤5ms

 SVG can complete interconversion from rated capacitive reactive power to rated inductive power within a very short time, this incomparable response time can be competent to the impact load compensation completely. 

7.low switch ripple output characteristic 

SVG use two same three phase full bridge inverters in parallel, which improved equipment capacity;and IGBT drive used PWM switch ripply cancellation technology which has our own patent, greatly reduced output ripple wave,

Naming Rules and Diagram of Circuit Principle

For example ZD-SVGC-200/6-4L2 means 1000kVar type of ZD-SVGC products, with rated voltage of 690V, adopting  3-phase 4-wire connection mode,With 2 SVGM module .

The reactive compensation is usually configured on the basis of 30% of the transformer capacity, for example, 400KVA transformer is usually configured with 120kvar-capacity reactive compensation device, and in special cases, first test the power quality, and then confirm the configuration capacity according to the test result.
