Sheng Qiuping, vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce of China, said on the 23rd that in the future, various measures will be taken to promote the development of trade in services, including expanding the scale of trade in services with member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), and encouraging energy conservation and carbon reduction that are urgently needed in China , environmental protection and other technology and service imports, etc.

According to official data, China's service import and export volume will reach 5.3 trillion yuan in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%, a record high, and the world ranking of service exports has risen from fourth to third. In the first half of this year, China's trade in services continued to maintain a rapid growth trend. The total value of imports and exports of services increased by 21.6% year-on-year, of which exports increased by 24.6%.

Sheng Qiuping said at the press conference held that day that the international competitiveness of "Chinese services" has further improved, but service trade still faces many challenges and constraints, such as the impact of the epidemic continues, external demand is facing the risk of contraction, and business pressure is increasing. Big wait.

He said that in order to promote the high-quality development of trade in services, the negative list of cross-border trade in services will be implemented across the country in the future, and the scale of trade in services with RCEP member countries will be expanded. In addition, China will take the opportunity of applying for accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Digital Economic Partnership Agreement (DEPA) to support qualified localities to carry out pilot trials in connecting with international high-standard economic and trade rules. To improve the facilitation level of cross-border flow of various factors.

Sheng Qiuping said that in the future, it will increase the digital transformation of the traditional service trade field, and promote the development of bonded research and development, testing, artwork display transactions and other emerging service trade. Encourage the import of technologies and services such as energy saving and carbon reduction and environmental protection that are urgently needed in the country, expand the export of green and low-carbon technologies, and explore the construction of a national service trade innovation and development demonstration zone.
