From December 25th to 26th, 2025, the Sichuan South and Yuxi Free Trade Synergy Reform and Innovation Alliance activities were held in the Sichuan South Port Area of the Free Trade Pilot Zone, with the theme "Open Integration of New Pattern·Free Trade Synergy to Promote Development". The activities aimed to explore new paths for cross-regional collaborative development. Wu Ge, a member of the Party Group of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and the Special Deputy Director of the Sichuan Free Trade Office, and Tang Weidong, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Department of Commerce and the Chongqing Free Trade Office, attended the event and delivered speeches.
The meeting pointed out that after nearly six years of exploration and practice, the free trade cooperation between Chuan and Yu has achieved a leapfrog development from "strategic blueprint" to "system architecture" and then to "in-depth promotion", forming a new pattern of institutional innovation cooperation, industrial development linkage and co-construction of open platforms.
The meeting emphasized that Luzhou is focusing on building a national logistics hub city port, a national regional medical and health center, a regional consumption center city, and a world-class high-quality liquor industry cluster. It is unswervingly promoting high-level opening up and high-quality development. In the future, it will focus on building a strategic high ground for opening up to the west and a new base for participating in international competition. It will deeply implement the action plan for opening up and development, superimpose and enhance the functions of national open platforms, continuously deepen the reform and cooperation of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone, and strive to form a number of landmark reform and innovation achievements, providing vivid practice examples for regional coordinated opening up.
The Free Trade Zone's Chuanan Lingang section will continue to deepen its collaborative reform with the Chuanan and YuXi regions, expanding the new space of collaboration in the fields of innovative synergy, hub sharing, and industrial linkage, to build a new strategic high ground for opening up to the west and a new base for participating in international competition, and to write a new chapter in regional collaborative development.
The event also saw the handover ceremony of the rotating chairman of the Sichuan South and Yuxi Free Trade Synergy Reform and Innovation Alliance, with the Chongqing Jiading Comprehensive Bonded Zone Innovation Zone becoming the next rotating chairman of the alliance.
During this event, representatives from the two places of the Free Trade Collaborative Opening-up Demonstration Zone have conducted on-site research at the Free Trade Zone Chuan Nan Port Area Exhibition Center, Luzhou Port, and Xinkang Yizhongshen New Material Co., Ltd.
The departments of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Free Trade Pilot Zones of Sichuan and Chongqing, the pilot areas of the coordinated reform and the pilot areas of the innovative linkage, and the person in charge of the enterprise participated in the event.
