The reporter learned from the Qingdao area of the Shandong Free Trade Zone that recently, the 2021 Spring Meeting and Annual Plenary Session of the Technical Committee on Sustainable Development of Cities and Communities of the International Organization for Standardization was held, and the Qingdao Free Trade Area participated in the meeting in the form of video. At the meeting, the Qingdao Free Trade Area introduced the basic work of the area to the International Standards Committee and reported the results of the green and sustainable indicator system.

　　The green and sustainable indicator system of the Qingdao Free Trade Zone has been compiled and is entering the implementation stage. After the official implementation, it will be the first green development index system in the country based on the characteristics and needs of the pilot free trade zone. According to the development requirements of the indicator system, the Qingdao Free Trade Zone will strictly control carbon emissions, complete the target earlier than the national "time standard line", and strive to reach the peak before 2027 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2050.
