The land is the key point of Jiuhejin, and the road leads to boats and vehicles in seven provinces. Tianjin has been a water and land transportation hub since ancient times. Today, relying on the location advantage of the "Belt and Road" sea and land intersection, Tianjin has smooth logistics and trade channels, and is speeding up the establishment of a hub for opening up to the outside world.

Transportation hub: All-round speeding up of "sea, land and air" construction

On the loading and unloading line of Tianjin Port, door cranes are operating non-stop. A batch of solar photovoltaic panels shipped from Shijiazhuang have just been shipped here and exported to European countries as soon as they get off the rails.

"The goods are transported from the railway to the port, and then go to sea by ship, which improves efficiency and reduces costs." The person in charge of the production and operation department of Tianjin China Railway United International Container Co., Ltd. told the reporter of Shanghai Securities News that the convenient sea-rail intermodal train makes this A batch of containers can be completed in one hour at the earliest.

Relying on the location advantage of the "Belt and Road" sea-land intersection, Tianjin Port comprehensively promotes the development of sea-rail combined transport. Last year, Tianjin Port completed a sea-rail intermodal transport volume of 1 million TEUs, creating a two-way multimodal transport mode of "Northeast Asia-Tianjin Port-Continental Bridge-Central Asia, West Asia and Europe".

The current "Belt and Road" route of Tianjin Port covers more than 100 countries and regions, and has three transit passages of the Eurasian Continental Bridge. The dense logistics channels bring surprising figures: from January to April this year, the import and export of Tianjin Port to ASEAN increased by 50.3% year-on-year.

Tianjin is also building an "air silk road". There is an air channel from Tianjin Binhai to Ulan-Udebaikal, Russia. Since the cargo route was newly opened at the end of last year, it has operated 4 flights a week, mainly carrying e-commerce products, daily necessities and clothing.

Liu Daogang, deputy director of the Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission, said that it is necessary to expand the "Belt and Road" countries and regional routes, develop tourist charter flights, business express lines, etc. Tianjin Binhai International Airport has launched the third-phase reconstruction and expansion project, which can meet the operational needs of 55 million passenger throughput after completion.

The port is the soul, and aviation is the wing. Tianjin's seaport, dry port, and airport are resonating at the same frequency, accelerating the construction of a transportation hub on an important node of the "Belt and Road".

Trade hub: Accelerated growth in import and export of goods

The whistle blew, and a train of China-Europe trains carrying second-hand cars successfully departed from China Railway Tianjin Container Center Station and headed for its destination, Russia.

Wang Huan, general manager of Tianjin Dongjiang International Train Operation and Management Co., Ltd., said in an interview with reporters: "Since the fourth quarter of last year, Russia has a great demand for used cars, and exports have grown rapidly."

"Many car companies have export needs, and we will attract supply from Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other provinces." Wang Huan said, "The return journey will import milk powder, dairy products, grain, soybeans, etc. from Russia, and there are basically no empty boxes at present. "

Automobile trade is a typical case of Tianjin's thriving manufacturing trade. Statistics show that the export of manufactured goods accounts for more than 70% of Tianjin's total export value all year round. Among them, the import and export of countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" has gradually become the main driving force for the growth of foreign trade at Tianjin Port. In 2022, the cumulative trade volume will reach 670.8 billion yuan, an increase of 41.2%, accounting for 33.4% of the total import and export value of the port.
