The reporter learned from the Ministry of Commerce on April 12 that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, namely RCEP, will come into force for the Philippines on June 2. At that time, RCEP will take full effect for the 15 member countries, and the world's largest free trade zone will enter a new stage of full implementation.
It is understood that my country is the Philippines' largest trading partner, the largest source of imports and the third largest export market. After RCEP officially came into effect for the Philippines, in the field of trade in goods, the Philippines added zero-tariff treatment to my country's automobiles and parts, some plastic products, textiles and clothing, air-conditioning washing machines, etc. on the basis of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.
In the field of services and investment, the Philippines has promised to open the market to more than 100 service sectors, significantly opening up shipping and air transportation services, and also giving foreign companies more certainty in the fields of commerce, telecommunications, distribution, finance, agriculture and manufacturing. .
Taking advantage of the RCEP policy dividends, corporate orders have risen steadily
Today, trade with RCEP member countries accounts for 30.8% of China's foreign trade, nearly 1/3 of the total. In the production workshop of this clothing company located in Rugao, Jiangsu, workers are rushing to make orders. In the first quarter of this year, the company actively used the RCEP policy dividends to save customers US$250,000 in taxes. The company's annual total orders are expected to rise steadily.
Zhang Zhou, Head of the Customs Clearance Department of Nantong Dongrun Industrial Co., Ltd.: More than 300 RCEP certificates were applied for, with an amount exceeding US$10 million, a year-on-year increase of 1.4 times and 86.9% respectively.
The full entry into force of RCEP will contribute to the prosperity and development of the global economy
The full entry into force of RCEP will help expand the scale of trade and investment between my country and RCEP member countries, meet the needs of domestic consumption expansion and upgrading, consolidate and strengthen the regional industrial chain supply chain, and promote the long-term prosperity and development of the global economy.
Gao Jinhong, Secretary-General of ASEAN: RCEP Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which is an agreement that brings the world's largest free trade area. We are already making some relevant arrangements, including customs clearance facilitation and consistent operation of technical standards, to further promote the formation of regional markets and strengthen the stability of the industrial chain and supply chain.
