On the morning of March 29, the second Hainan-themed sub-forum of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023 - the 3rd Global Free Trade Port Development Forum was held in Boao.
At the forum, Hainan Free Trade Port and Hong Kong Special Economic Zone of China, Jebel Ali Free Zone in the United Arab Emirates, Jeju International Free City in South Korea, Port Klang Free Trade Zone in Malaysia, Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in Cambodia, and San Pedro Free Trade Zone in Côte d’Ivoire Some international free trade zones including Fujian, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Henan, Chongqing and other 18 domestic free trade pilot zones jointly launched the "Global Free Trade Zone (Hong Kong) Partnership Initiative" .
The "Global Free Trade Zone (Port) Partnership Initiative" advocates global free trade zone (Port) to focus on several major areas of cooperation. The first is to strengthen cooperation in areas such as air and sea transportation networks, logistics, and cross-border e-commerce, and provide efficient and fast customs clearance services for the orderly flow of goods, services, capital, and talents. The second is to give full play to their respective policies, locations and industrial advantages, carry out cross-border or cross-regional cooperation in industrial parks, and build a resilient global free trade zone (port) industrial chain, supply chain, value chain, and innovation chain system. The third is to promote international cooperation in digital economy, green economy, etc., and strive to achieve sustainable development and open up more room for development. Fourth, on the basis of respecting each other's national conditions, laws and regulatory policies, focus on institutional opening-up such as rules, regulations, management and standards, and learn from each other's beneficial experience and good practices. The fifth is to support government departments, business associations, trade and investment promotion agencies, think tanks, etc. to establish a pragmatic and efficient working mechanism, and promote the establishment of a mutual visit mechanism. The sixth is to use the platform of the Global Free Trade Port Development Forum of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference to strengthen policy communication and dialogue, gather consensus on responding to challenges in global economic development, put forward common initiatives, and build an interconnected partnership.
