China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo is the only national-level institutional exhibition for Central and Eastern Europe, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province.


  From May 16th to 20th, the 3rd China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo and International Consumer Goods Expo will be held in Ningbo, and the 24th China Zhejiang Investment and Trade Fair will also be held at the same time.

  On the morning of May 5, the State Council Information Office held a press conference. Li Fei, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Lu Shan, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, Tang Feifan, Mayor of Ningbo, Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Yu Yuantang, Director of the European Department of the Ministry of Commerce, introduced the economic and trade cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries and the third China-China The Eastern European Countries Expo and the International Consumer Goods Expo, and answered questions from reporters.

  At the press conference, Vice Minister of Commerce Li Fei introduced that the theme of this expo is "Deepening Pragmatic Cooperation and Joining Hands to the Future", which is the first national-level exhibition held in my country for the Central and Eastern European region after the smooth transition of epidemic prevention and control . Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries is an important part of China-EU relations. Since the establishment of the cooperation mechanism in 2012, the economic and trade cooperation between the two sides has made positive progress:


Bilateral trade continues to grow

  Since 2012, China's trade with CEE countries has grown at an average annual rate of 8.1%, and China's imports from CEE countries have grown at an average annual rate of 9.2%. In the first quarter of this year, the trade volume between the two sides reached 33.3 billion US dollars, an increase of 1.6%, and the overall start is stable and positive.

Investment cooperation is getting closer
  Up to now, the scale of two-way investment between China and Central and Eastern European countries has reached nearly 20 billion US dollars. In the first quarter of this year, China's direct investment in the entire industry in Central and Eastern European countries increased by 148% year-on-year, and Chinese companies have a strong willingness to invest in Central and Eastern Europe. Investment areas involve auto parts, home appliances, medicine, logistics, energy, minerals, etc.
Steady implementation of infrastructure projects

  In 2022, Chinese companies will sign engineering contracts worth US$9.36 billion in Central and Eastern European countries. In July 2022, the priority section of the North-South Expressway in Montenegro and the Peljesac Bridge in Croatia were opened to traffic. The Hungarian-Serbian Railway is advancing steadily, and infrastructure projects such as transportation and energy are progressing smoothly. These have become highlights of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.

Rapid development of interconnection
  The China-Europe Railway Express is booming. In 2022, 16,000 trains will be operated, a year-on-year increase of 9%. The southbound channel has been successfully opened, providing a new transportation solution to Europe. Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and other countries have become important passages and destinations of the China-Europe Railway Express. The construction of the China-Europe land-sea express line is actively advancing. The throughput of Piraeus Port in Greece ranks among the top ports in the Mediterranean Sea. The logistics cooperation between China and Poland, Slovenia, Croatia and other countries is getting closer.


  Lu Shan, the vice governor of Zhejiang Province, introduced that during the second China-Central and Eastern Europe Expo, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the conference, proposing "three advantages", that is, it is beneficial to enhance the Chinese market's understanding of Central and Eastern European commodities. It is conducive to expanding the exports of Central and Eastern European countries to China, and is conducive to all parties to overcome the challenges brought about by the new crown pneumonia epidemic and promote economic recovery.

  These three "benefits" provide fundamental guidelines for the success of the Central and Eastern European Countries Expo, and Zhejiang will thoroughly implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter instructions. Last year, the import and export between Zhejiang and Central and Eastern European countries reached US$25.21 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%, of which imports increased by 22.7% year-on-year. In the first quarter of this year, import and export maintained a rapid growth of 8.7%. At the same time, promote exchanges and cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries in the whole province. A number of iconic achievements have been made in several fields such as automobile manufacturing, biomedicine, and photovoltaic power generation.
