On June 30, Yang Fan, spokesperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said at a regular press conference in June that since RCEP came into effect, the cost of trade in goods among member countries has been significantly reduced, and it has effectively promoted the deep integration of regional industrial chain supply chain value chains. Boost confidence in regional economic recovery and inject new momentum into regional and even global trade and investment growth. RCEP has brought real dividends and benefits to the vast number of enterprises in our country, and brought actual economic benefits to export-oriented enterprises in terms of tariff concessions and customs clearance convenience, and promoted enterprises to enhance their competitiveness in exploring the international market.
Yang Fan said that the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, as the main force for the high-quality promotion and implementation of RCEP, will continue to guide and support localities, industries and enterprises to seize opportunities, expand trade and investment cooperation with RCEP members, and promote the continuous release of dividends from the agreement.
The first is to strengthen commercial certification. From January 2022 to June 25, 2023, the national trade promotion system has issued 248,600 certificates of origin under RCEP, involving an export value of US$9.988 billion, and is expected to reduce or exempt US$150 million in tariffs for Chinese products in RCEP importing member countries. At the same time, the RCEP country of origin visa system has been developed and launched, allowing companies to apply online 365×24 without leaving home.
The second is to strengthen training and interpretation. We organized the preparation of the "Guidelines for Economic and Trade Exchanges with China under the RCEP Agreement" (English version), and uploaded the electronic version to the official website of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade to provide reference for enterprises to enjoy benefits. According to statistics, in 2022, the national trade promotion system will hold more than 200 various forums and training sessions, benefiting hundreds of thousands of enterprises.
The third is to strengthen service guarantee. Track the effect of RCEP implementation in various places, explore the development of RCEP refined consulting services, tailor-made "best preferential combination" for enterprises, and develop ideas for enterprises to make full use of the agreement dividends.
