From January to May this year, our province imported 340 million yuan of beer from Europe, a year-on-year increase of 20%, accounting for 85.8% of the total value of beer imports in our province during the same period. Among them, the import from the Netherlands was 70 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of nearly 3 times. imports from France, Spain and Belgium were 70 million, 50 million and 40 million yuan respectively.
Xiamen is the largest imported beer port in the country. imported alcohol trade is developing rapidly. Relying on this advantage, Xiamen Free Trade Zone focuses on building an imported alcohol platform. From January to May, the sales of enterprises settled on the platform reached 5.48 billion yuan, an increase of 15.6% year-on-year.
As of the end of May 2023, the Xiamen International Wine Trading Platform has introduced nearly 40 international first-class brands such as Hennessy, Macallan, and Martell, with a total of 236 member companies and 58 enterprises in the industrial chain; Xiamen Free Trade Zone Digital International From January to May, the online transaction volume of the wine platform was 324 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%.
The high-temperature environment can easily lead to a decrease in the quality of wine. The Xiamen Free Trade Zone has strengthened the cooperation of port departments to facilitate the customs clearance of imported wine.
In response to the peak period of wine imports, Xiamen Customs opened a special wine window to speed up the efficiency of document review, inspection, and certificate issuance, and speed up customs clearance; a special area for wine inspection was opened to avoid the impact of high temperature in the inspection site on the quality of wine. In addition, for enterprises with special needs, customs officers will be arranged to go to the factory for inspection to ensure that imported beer is put on the market as soon as possible.
