On March 30, 2023, the Guangzhou Roundtable of the 25th meeting of the China-EU Intellectual Property Working Group was held at the Guangzhou Science City Convention Center. The meeting focused on the theme of intellectual property protection, aimed at deepening China-EU cooperation in intellectual property rights and sharing work experience in intellectual property protection. More than 30 people from the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the General Administration of Customs, the EU Mission in China, embassies and consulates of some member states in China, relevant departments of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou Development Zone attended the meeting. The meeting is co-organized by the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and the Management Committee of Guangzhou Development Zone.
The representative of the Guangzhou Development District Management Committee said that the meeting of the China-EU Intellectual Property Working Group was held again in Guangzhou Development District after five years, which is a full affirmation of the effectiveness of the comprehensive reform and experiment work on the use and protection of intellectual property rights. Guangzhou Development District will continue to deepen international exchanges and cooperation on intellectual property rights, improve the internationalization and professionalization of intellectual property services, and create a global intellectual property highland.
Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Bureau (Intellectual Property Office), Guangdong Provincial Copyright Bureau, Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, General Administration of Customs Guangdong Branch, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court and other departments shared their experience and practices in intellectual property protection. The two sides also conducted in-depth exchanges on issues of common concern.
The China-EU Intellectual Property Working Group is a regular exchange and dialogue mechanism on intellectual property rights established between the Ministry of Commerce and the European Commission's Directorate-General for Trade. The in-depth promotion of China-EU intellectual property cooperation has played a positive role in promoting China-EU economic and trade exchanges and the development of scientific and technological innovation.
