After the completion of the project, it will form contiguous development and scale effect with berths 1 to 5 of Jiangyin Port Area, which has been put into operation in advance, and become the largest single-contiguous container port area in Fujian Province, helping to accelerate the development of the port economy in our province.
In May 2013, Fujian Transportation Group and Singapore PSA International Port Group jointly promoted the integration of Fuzhou Port's container terminal sector, established Fugang Containers, and formed the contiguous development of berths 1 to 7 and berth 14 in Jiangyin Port Area. The development pattern of unified operation.
Since the integration, the container business of Fuzhou Port has continuously made new breakthroughs. In terms of routes, Fugang Containers has opened more than 60 far and near ocean and domestic and foreign trade container routes, covering major ports around the world and reaching major domestic ports. Among them, 13 routes were selected as "Silk Road Shipping". Up to now, Fugang Containers has handled a cumulative container throughput of over 23 million TEUs.
At the same time, Fuzhou Port vigorously develops the sea-rail multimodal transport container business, and opened the sea-rail combined transport channel from Jiangyin port area to the central and western regions of China, Southeast Asia, and Europe, realizing the seamless connection between the "sea silk" and "land silk". Since the launch of the sea-rail combined transport business in 2014, Fuzhou Port has completed a total delivery volume of over 230,000 TEUs. From January to April this year, the sea-rail combined transport business of Fuzhou Port developed vigorously, with the delivery volume reaching 15,932 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 80.6%.
