Construction has recently started for the Toyota project of fuel cell R&D and production in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. This is the first overseas hydrogen fuel cell project of Toyota Motor Corporation and one of the largest foreign-invested projects in Beijing's hydrogen energy industry.
After the completion of construction, the project will facilitate the promotion of fuel cell vehicles and drive the development of industrial chains related to hydrogen energy in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. More importantly, it will contribute to Beijing's development into an influential international city in the hydrogen energy industry.
Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, a hub for high-end, precision and sophisticated industries in Beijing, has established four industrial clusters valuing CNY 100 billion each. The area has gathered leading innovative resources and acquired industrial agglomeration advantages in the industry of intelligent connected new-energy vehicles, strongly supporting the high-quality development of the automotive industry. Beijing Municipality has accelerated the development of the hydrogen energy industry by promoting the building of pilot demonstration city clusters for fuel cell vehicles and releasing special supportive policies for the hydrogen energy industry. Taking the hydrogen energy industry as a key focus in future industrial development, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area has recently issued Measures on Promoting the High-quality Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry to provide strong support for the agglomeration and development of hydrogen energy enterprises through a variety of specific actions, such as centering on the building of the innovation ecosystem and industrial clusters and promoting the application of hydrogen energy as demonstration.
