The reporter learned from the Fuzhou Central Sub-branch of the People's Bank of China on July 7 that in the first half of the year, the cross-border RMB business settlement amount in Fujian Province was 508.08 billion yuan, a continuous increase of 30.8% year-on-year against the background of rapid growth in the previous year. Among them, ASEAN, RCEP member countries, and countries along the “Belt and Road” increased by 69.3%, 51.6%, and 72.2% year-on-year respectively. In June, the province's cross-border RMB business settlement amount was 133.94 billion yuan, a record high in a single month.
Since the beginning of this year, focusing on serving the real economy and promoting trade and investment facilitation, the Fuzhou Central Sub-branch of the People's Bank of China has deployed in the province to expand cross-border RMB "first-opening accounts", implement facilitation optimization plans, support core enterprises in the supply chain, and expand cross-border financing, etc. The four major projects will give full play to the guiding role of special funds for foreign trade and economic cooperation, help key enterprises leapfrog development, further increase the proportion of RMB settlement in trade items and direct investment, and promote the continuous and rapid growth of cross-border RMB business in the province.
The coverage of cross-border RMB business was further expanded. The Fuzhou Central Sub-branch of the People's Bank of China and the Fujian Branch of the Foreign Exchange Administration launched a special campaign to expand the cross-border RMB "first account" across the province. Provide personalized and differentiated financial services, and continuously improve the experience and sense of acquisition of cross-border RMB by market players. In the first half of the year, there were 2,343 new cross-border RMB “first accounts” in the province, with a settlement amount of 26.53 billion yuan, accounting for 9.5% of the RMB settlement business volume of all enterprises.
