Product Description
>>Why ELCB?
Prevention of hazards and damage (such as electrical shock, electrical fire, and device damage)
that may occur in electrical equipment (as stipulated in IEC 60364)
A. Protection against direct contact
Protection of people from harzards(i.e.,electrical shock) that may occur due to touching charged parts of electrical equipment.
Use if ELCB with rated sensitive current not exceeding 30mA is recommended as the additional protective device.
B. Protection against indirect contact
Protection of people from electrical shock that may occur due to touching exposed conductive parts( such as metal frame of the device) when a fault occurs in electrical equipment.
As one of the protective measures, depending on the condition in TT or TN-S system, the automation cutoff of power supply with ELCB is specified in IEC60364-4-41.
For the details of the installation systems and how to apply ELCB, please refer to the following chart and flowchart.
>>What is the different between MCB and MCCB?
MCB is a miniature circuit breaker which is used to break small currents.(Like in domestic LT circuits)
* The ratings usually end up to 100 A
* Interrupting rating of under 18000 A
* Trip characteristics may not be adjusted
* Suitable for low current circuits (low energy requirement), i.e. home wiring.
* Generally, use where normal current is less than 100 A
MCCB is a molded case circuit breaker which has a rugged construction as it can break
Larger currents usually from (100~1000 A)
* Rated current in the range of 10-2500 A
* Thermal operated for overload and Magnetic operation for instant trip in SC(Short Circuit conditions)
* Interrupting rate can be around 10k~200k amps
* Suitable for high power rating and high energy i.e. commercial and industrial use
* Generally, use where normal current is more than 100 A
